Light therapy helps against the winter blues

The lack of light that autumn and winter inevitably bring with it is a reason for winter depression and affects our mood due to the reduced release of serotonin (a chemical messenger that acts as a kind of endogenous antidepressant). So what to do when the sun fails us? The answer is simple: bring the light into your home yourself. So-called light therapy helps using daylight lamps that imitate the light of the sun with very bright artificial light.
